Easy to Decorate Birthday Cake

I love to make birthday cakes, even though I am not very good at it! This is one of the simplest decorated birthday cakes ever. However, every time I make it….People always love it! Just icing the cake like normal. Put some rosettes all over the top and a little on the sides. Then add the dots on the bottom…And DONE! You really can decorate this cake in less than 20 minutes! That easy! Image

Dessert Chimichangas

Chimichangas are one of my family’s favorite dish. However, I’ve only made then as a main dish. I was Pinterest-ing one day and came across Apple chimichangas. They sounded and looked delicious! As I sat here contemplating WHEN I was going to make them, I remembered the Mexican restaurant where I live serves something like this except, theirs are made with a cheesecake kind of filling. Who doesn’t like cheesecake?!

Here’s what you’ll need……

1 package cream cheese softened

1/3 cup sugar

2 tablespoons flour

1 teaspoon of vanilla (or as much as you desire, I tend to put more vanilla in all of my recipes that call for it)

1 Can apple pie filling

Pack of 10 flour tortillas

Oil to fry

For Dusting

1/2 cup of sugar

Cinnamon as desired

Beat cream cheese until it looks fluffy. Add sugar and beat until well blended. Add flour and vanilla. Stir in pie filling.

In a separate dish combine sugar and cinnamon.

Heat up tortillas so they are soft enough to roll.

Distribute mixture on tortillas evenly.

Tuck both ends of tortillas in, like a burrito and roll. Make sure oil is hot and drop the chimichangas in until all sides are brown. Take out and place on a plate with paper towels to dry off excess oil, do not let the chimichangas cool off. you’ll need them hot enough for the next step. Drop them in your dish with the sugar and cinnamon. Dust all sides and place in a plate. Drizzle with chocolate syrup or any other flavor you’d like. Image

My concern with them was, if they were going to be good if they were not served hot…….They are! My girls had them for breakfast the following morning and they were still delicious. If you do not want them cold, pop them in the microwave for about 20 seconds and they will be nice and warm!

I will be making these again and maybe trying frozen blueberries or strawberries. I’ll update and let everyone know if they turn out the same.

Enjoy! =)

♥♥♥♥Valentine’s Day♥♥♥♥

It’s almost that time of the year again =) Valentine’s Day. I made these for my daughter’s class last year, heart shaped cake pops. I followed this cake pop recipe.

I bought a heart mold from Michael’s to get the heart shape and used Wilton red candy melts instead of the chocolate that the recipe calls for.  I bought the metal mold, but personally, I wish I would’ve bought the silicone; only because I’m assuming that the cake pops would be easier to take out from the silicone mold.

They were a great hit in my daughter’s class!

Fun, Easy, Cheap Dinner!

I love to cook! However, this post doesn’t fall under that category. I was at a friend’s house a few weeks ago. She was having a kids Pizza Party. That is when I discovered “Pizza Budy Pizza Dough”. image

It is $0.88 a piece! Yes, $0.88 from Wal-Mart! And one package makes 4 personal pizzas!image

It is so Easy! Spray some cooking spray on foil, cut package into 4 parts, roll into a ball, and let the kids roll out their own dough into shapes. Let the kids put on their toppings. Fold the foil around the edges! 20 minutes in oven… And done! So cheap! So fun! So easy!

It’s an American Girl Par-Tea!

This was a birthday party for my daughter when she turned nine years old. She wanted to include her American Girl Dolls. So this is what we came up with!

These are water bottles with the girls names on them, and a framed invitation to the party.Image

We made the cupcakes…super easy! Image

With the left over icing and bought cookies….Image
